WAHOO! Paper Pumpkin Kit

This month's Paper Pumpkin kit includes a stamp set that says "WAHOO!  YOU DID IT!"  The sketch and layout that came with this month's kit looks like this:
Card #1: Original Card Sketch and Layout from September's Paper Pumpkin Kit
This is how the Paper Pumpkin kit comes.  In a bright Calypso Coral colored box!
Supplies included in this month's Paper Pumpkin kit - card bases, WAHOO! and YOU DID IT! stamps, index card die cut pieces, DSP printed arrows, Naturals Desiger buttons, Whisper White Baker's Twine, Midnight Muse stamping spot and dimensionals.

This month's Paper Pumpkin card is not my favorite but I always make the first item to look like the sketch in case I may like it more once I've made it.  Then, I begin creating new items using the items from the Paper Pumpkin kit and other stamp sets and accessories that I have.  Below you will find two more cards using pieces of the kit and other items I had on hand.
Card #2 (Paper Pumpkin supplies used only):  Used part of the index card die cut that was left over to sponge a design in Summer Starfruit on the front of the card and then stamped the word "WAHOO!".  Added Naturals Designer Button, Whisper White Baker's Twine and DSP printed arrows from Paper Pumpkin kit.
Card #3 (my FAV): I used the inside of the card (the part without the target printed on it).  Added the bicycle and wording from the stamp set "Cycle Celebration".  Added DSP printed arrows from Paper Pumpkin kit and the Whisper White Baker's Twine in a box.  Then, added Candy Dots Brad Bases in the spokes of the bicycle wheels and Old Olive Candy Dots on top.
If you like the idea of getting a kit sent to you with all the supplies you need to create a set of 4 cards, some home decor or a 3-D item, you should check out the Paper Pumpkin kits today.  For more details, please visit the Paper Pumpkin website by clicking here.  Please contact any of the bakers if you are interested in signing up to start receiving your very own Paper Pumpkin Kit today!

September Club Cards

Autumn is in the air!  So for club this month we made a Halloween card, a fall/Thankful for card and a fun card using the Mosaic Madness stamp set that could easier be used as a holiday card by making the flower look like a poinsettia.  Take a look and let me know what you think in the comments.

Truly Grateful Card

Autumn is my favorite time of year!  I love to watch the leaves changing colors, the cooler weather and all the fun that comes along with autumn...apple picking, pumpkin patch visit, long family walks and the beginning of the crazy holiday season.  So I had to get the Truly Grateful stamp set and I am so glad that I did!
Truly Grateful Card with the Thankful for... greeting in the bottom left corner
I started with a smaller than usual layer of Crushed Curry on top of my Old Olive card base.  I stamped the background image vertically in Baked Brown Sugar twice on a piece of Whisper White card stock (image stamped side by side) and then trimmed the edges where there was any white left.

I wanted to emboss the hay and the acorn but they don't make embossing powder in all the Stampin' Up! colors.  So I decided to try out a few ideas that I had.  FYI: You can stamp the image twice.  Once in the ink color of your color and then stamp again using Versamark and then cover in clear embossing powder.  Of course, this involves using a Stamp-A-Ma-Jig and some patience.  It worked but took too long for me.  Another idea that worked the best for this card...I thought the new ink pads are really juicy so maybe I could put clear embossing powder on top of the stamped ink.  Luckily, it worked!  I love feeling the texture on the stamped images of the hay and acorn after the images were embossed. Both images were hand cut to make them look authentic.  Finally, I added some of the new 7/16" Natural Trim to the layers but felt this card was missing something.  So I added some linen thread to the hay (suggested by Deena) which really made the card.  Thanks Deena!

Trick or Treat Card

I only have one stamp set with a Halloween stamp set in it...Tags 4 You.  I'm not a huge Halloween fan like most of our bakers here at Pink Paper Bakery.  So I tried to incorporate the Trick or Treat stamp from Tags 4 You into a card for my club members this month.  I had started by playing with some Witches' Brew Designer Washi Tape and then I was curious how embossing powder would do on Washi Tape.  Would the washi tape be too slick of a surface?  Would too much of the embossing powder smear on the washi tape?  No...it actually works great and looks great too!
Card #1: Trick or Treat
On this card, I placed Witches' Brew Designer Washi Tape on a piece of Whisper White card stock then embossed the Trick or Treat image onto the washi tape using Versamark and Black Embossing Powder.  Then, I cut out the image and washi tape layer using the Window Frames Collection Framelits, placed it onto another piece of black card stock cut out using the Window Frames Collection Framelits and placed it on a piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock using dimensionals.  The Pumpkin Pie layer was embossed using the Chevron Embossing Folder and my Big Shot and then adhered to a Crumb Cake card base.  Lastly, I added a black bow using the 1/8" Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon.

On this card, I played with the look of the Witches' Brew Designer Washi Tape all over my card.  I added the bird image and the frame image from Apothecary Art using Whisper White craft ink on Basic Black card stock.  After it dried, I embossed the Trick or Treat image using Versamark and Black Embossing Powder.  I adhered the Basic Black card stock layer to a Tangerine Tango card base.  Finally, I added 2 candy dots in Tangerine Tango.

Which Halloween card is your favorite?  Leave a comment below.  My favorite at the moment is the Pumpkin Pie/Crumb Cake card since the Trick or Treat image seems to pop off the card.

Joyful Christmas

Are you ready for the holidays?  I'm not but I need to start thinking ahead.  The only holiday stamp set I have since the new Holiday Catalog came out on August 1st is Joyful Christmas.  I won this stamp set at Stampin' Up!'s Convention this year.  Guess I need to start thinking about the holidays and place an order soon or it will be too late!
To create this card, start with a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of Smoky Slate card stock; scored at 4 1/4".  Stamp the leaves from the Joyful Christmas stamp set in Pool Party twice creating a "V" on a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of Whisper White card stock.  Stamp the greeting from the same set in Island Indigo above the leaves.  Add a 2 1/2" x 4" piece of DSP from the Winter Frost DSP Stack.  Cut a 1/4" x 4" piece of Silver Glimmer Paper and add to the Whisper White card stock layer under the Winter Frost DSP layer.  Adhere this completed layer to the Smoky Slate card base.  Add three rhinestones to the Pool Party leaves to look like berries.

If you're like me and not ready to think about the holidays, let this be your reminder that the holidays always come very quickly once fall arrives.  So check out Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Catalog here and contact your SU! demonstrator or one of the bakers right away to place your order.  Don't let the rush of the season pass you by this year.
