Vivid Vases Spotlight Card

I have been wanting to do the Spotlighting Technique with my Stamp Club members for awhile.  So when I saw this card on Pinterest by Maria Teresa, I decided that I had to CASE it.  The bright colors and use of the On Film framelits instead of a circle cutout drew me to this card.  This card also allows me to use my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig with my club members.  It's been awhile since they've used this wonderful tool so it will be a good review for them.  I hope you'll give the Spotlighting Technique a try today.

Work of Art Watermelon Card

My version of Jill Hillard's card using a Wild Wasabi card base.
I think summer has the best and freshest fruits and vegetables of any season.   One of my favorite summer time treats is watermelon.  I love the bright colors and how juicy it tastes during the hot days of summer.  That's why this card CASED from Jill Hillard is perfect for summer.  I love how Jill used the Work of Art stamp set to look like watermelon.  The only thing I changed was the card base and using a different stamp set to stamp my heart watermelon seeds.

Bloom with Hope Card

For this card, I used a layout similar to one I had seen on Pinterest recently.  I loved how the papercrafter had stamped the flowers from the Bloom of Hope stamp set and punched it out with a 2 ½” Circle punch.  So I CASED that part of the card but changed everything else about it.  I decided to use some of the Confetti Celebration DSP and layer it on top of some Whisper White card stock.  Before adding these layers to my Coastal Cabana card base, I added some (retired) 1/8" Daffodil Delight taffeta ribbon glue dotted to some (retired) Coastal Cabana ruffled ribbon.  I would have used some current ribbon but I really liked how these two ribbons laid on top of each other.  I added a small Happy Birthday greeting stamped in Basic Black on top of Daffodil Delight card stock punched out with a Word Window punch and layered it on top of Coastal Cabana card stock punched out with a Modern Label punch.  To finish giving this card a feminine look, I added pearls around the flowers.

I love this layout and hope you'll give it a try.  I will definitely be using this simple layout again for a fall or holiday card in the future.
Changed card by adding DSP banners instead of ribbon
For another look, you can add DSP banners in a corner of the card and add a matching Candy Dot. Ribbon or DSP can easily change the look of your layout and both are an inexpensive way to create a "WOW" for your card.
