By the Tide Tag Card

With the weather going between a mixture of rain and snow, and warm spring-like temperatures, this NC girl is dreaming of the summer already.  So I decided to pull out my By The Tide stamp set and the color combination of Crisp Cantaloupe, Pool Party and Whisper White.  I started by punching the top of a 2" x 4" piece of Whisper White card stock using the Scalloped Tag Topper punch.  Next, I stamped the wording from the By The Tide set in Pool Party on the Whisper White tag on a diagonal.  I added the "Thank You So Much" greeting in Crisp Cantaloupe from the Lots of Thanks stamp set and a hand-cut Crisp Cantaloupe shell added with a dimensional.  I also added some Natural Trim to the top of the tag and a Calypso Coral button (looks similar in color to the Crisp Cantaloupe) with Linen Thread tied into a bow.  To complete this card, I embossed a 4” x 5 ¼” Crisp Cantaloupe layer using the Arrows Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I added all of my layers onto a 4 ½” x 11” Pool Party card base.  I keep this card in my windowed cabinet so whenever I am having a bad day or just hating the weather we are having, I can look at this card and look forward to visiting the beach this summer.

Yippee Skippee! A Petite Petals Card

For this card, I decided to use the SAB Sweet Sorbet DSP. The colors are so bright and cheerful that it makes today's dreary rainy and cold day almost feel like spring. I CASED this card from blog-land somewhere. Sorry that I can't find the original creator. I changed up the original design by using the Labels Collection Framelits instead of the Deco Labels Collection Framelits. Using a regular size card and folding back half of the front adds a lot more interest and a different focal point to the card. That's why I love this layout so much. You can't use it every time but it's nice to change things up every bit.  I hope you'll give it a try today!

Happy Easter Card

It's time to start thinking about one of my favorite holidays...Easter!  Don't you just love all the candy and goodies that come out near Easter and the weather?  I love when the weather starts to warm up, the birds start to sing, and the flowers start to bloom with the beginning of Spring and Easter!  So obviously I need to create an Easter card to send to our loved ones.  So this is what I came up with...

I used the Basic Gray Chevron DSP from the I Am Me DSP pack for my background.  Then, added some Pear Pizzazz card stock cut with the new Fringe Scissors to look like grass.  To create the eggs, I used the Extra-Large Oval punch and punched out 2 eggs, embossed them using the Decorative Dots (SAB) Embossing Folder to add some detail, and then colored at random some of the dots with Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzazz markers.  I added a piece of Lucky Limeade Baker's Twine tied in a bow to the edge of my DSP and grass layer before adding it to a Whisper White card base.  The thing I love about the Baker's Twine is that the colors mixed with the white twine in the Baker's Twine make it so much easier to make similar colors go together.  I added the "happy Easter" sentiment from the (retired) Well Scripted set in Coastal Cabana and then punched it out using the Large Oval punch.  I decided to make the words pop by layering it on top of a piece of Bermuda Bay card stock that was punched out using the Scallop Oval punch.  A quick and easy card that will be easy to duplicate for family and friends this Easter.
